Living Water Development is a Not-for-profit entity. We principally use WaSH (Water & Sanitation, Hygiene promotion) disciplines in our workshops and seminars with leaders in Village level development settings. We have observed that communities benefit from our community-led Sanitation training as they are given an opportunity to thrive as self-determining and healthy communities.

Over 20+ years, Living Water Development has delivered a number of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene workshops particularly in Uganda, Kenya, Myanmar, Thailand and the Pacific with measurable beneficial outcomes. These projects have focused on creating sustainable methods to access safe water and promote awareness of sanitation issues in the local communities. LWD’s role has been to assist partners in technical implementation and training of their project managers. 

Living Water Development has trained partners particularly in the construction and implementation of Bio Sand Filtration units, but also in solar distillation units, Rope pump and well construction and various methods to upgrade the local water supply. LWD has helped implement a number of small projects on behalf of communities, but our goal is to develop individual and community capacity improve the health of their community, not endless projects done for them.

Poverty alleviation is possible on a community level. LWD spends time with participants to analyse poverty and its key indicators. Poverty is not just ‘deficits’ of not enough this or that but also the imbalance in power structures, education, and health. These are key contributors to poverty and understanding their effect allows people to lift their gaze and believe that God has made us all talented people with an ability to grow and to assist others.
